It was okay, could've been better.
by Nova🩵 on 12/3/24The Belasco - Los AngelesRating: 3 out of 5Two stars removed because this venue does not offer free water in any way (not even water fountains), and I have attended concerts at multiple venues. The Belasco has an outdoor smoking area, but it's not a great idea to have the merch booth out there, IMHO... I can understand why it was placed out there, given the limited space. The surrounding area sucks, there's not many food options available aside from your usual taco trucks and hot dog carts. I do not have a car, but the bus connections here are very accessible, as with the nearby A, E, and J lines since this place is close to the Crypto.com arena (formerly the STAPLES Center). As for the concert itself, it was okay, your usual metalcore concert with mosh pits filled with sweaty elder emos and crushed beer cups everywhere. It reminded me of House of Blues Anaheim and other standing-room-only venues. As for the bands themselves and the overall vibe of the concert, it was typical of your usual concert involving less mainstream bands. SeeYouSpaceCowboy was great, and Like Moths To Flames was kind of disappointing even though I was obsessed with their music back in high school, and I KNOW that Chris Roetter was disappointed with the crowd's energy (but then again, the band is not as popular anymore). I would not prefer to come back to this venue unless a band that I like is playing here. I did not enjoy the experience of having to go for nearly 4 hours without any water. It is also advised that like with any other standing-only concert, you bring comfortable shoes.
