About

The Discover NHL Winter Classic® will feature the Chicago Blackhawks hosting the St. Louis Blues, at Wrigley Field. This will mark the seventh NHL regular-season outdoor game for the Blackhawks and the second time the game has been hosted at Wrigley Field, the other being a 6-4 Blackhawks loss to the Detroit Red Wings in the 2009 NHL Winter Classic. It will mark the third regular-season outdoor game for the Blues. The Blackhawks are 1-5-0 in their regular-season outdoor appearances, and the Blues are 2-0-0 in such games, including a win over the Blackhawks in the 2017 NHL Winter Classic at Busch Stadium.

The game continues the tradition the League established in 2008 of hosting a regular-season outdoor game at the onset of the new year, with the 2025 edition marking the 16th NHL Winter Classic® and the 42nd NHL regular-season outdoor game overall.

  • Great Experience

    by Bluesin7 on 1/6/25Wrigley Field - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I have always wanted to attend a Winter Classic game with the Blues and considering I missed the first two, I was glad I was able to get tickets to this one. Although the weather was a little rainy before the game, my wife and I had a great time with the pre-game events and concert. To top it all off, the Blues dominated the Blackhawks so it was a perfect day for me!!

  • Best hockey experience ever!

  • Mixed bag

Atmosphere, acts and fan fare was electric. Entry to Wrigley was horrible and drinks were sooo expensive. More than UC. Very expensive tix and when I sat down, there was a post blocking my view of right field face off circle. Being a season ticket holder, I got early pick on seats and usually you get a warning that tixkets have an obstructed view. I don’t remember seeing that and others around me inducted the same complaint. Blackhawks play on the ice was bad and hated hearing St. Louis fans chanting. Kyle Davidson has been in architect seat for a few years now and they should be better. It seeing it.

  • Another Fantastic Winter Classic with the Blues!

by Chris on 1/4/25Wrigley Field - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The entire experience was fantastic. Really enjoyed the pregame event a few blocks away. Lots of interactive events there and swag being given out. Food offerings were great too. Got to see an interview with The Great One, Gretzky!! The Barn Burner was next, tons of choices in the team store, musical entertainment in the Barn Burner was outstanding. I had a great view of the ice and was under a roof. All in all, I can't recommend the event enough, I've attended all three Winter Classics in which the Blues have played! Bonus: The Blues are 3 & 0 in Winter Classics! Can't wait for the next one!

Even with the poor weather we had a great time. It was well organized and if you were a Blues fan it was a great game.

  • Limited view after purchase

by Presale didn't disclose obstruction on 1/4/25Wrigley Field - ChicagoRating: 1 out of 5

Bought the tickets for the presale season ticket holder event and no mention of a limited view. And when ticket was added to the wallet it showed limited view behind a support pillar

  • Fun but poor sound and sight lines

    by 420 on 1/4/25Wrigley Field - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

The most expensive seats had the worst sight lines for the game. The concerts of smashing pumpkins and chance the rapper had really bad sound and could not hear anything. For the cost of the tickets I would expect more.

  • Outdoor Experience

    by Mark1 on 1/4/25Wrigley Field - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The event started with rain falling as my wife, Alisa, and I entered Wrigley Field! After making our way through the vast throng of fans from both teams, we made our way upstairs to our seats. Before arriving at our seats, we stopped to take pictures so that the memories of the day would be etched in our minds forever. Fans from both teams were assisting with picture taking and were also engaged in some good natured ribbing of each other. The pre game festivities began around 4: 00 and included a performance by the Smashing Pumpkins which delighted the more than 40,000 fans in attendance. There was an excited buzz in the air as both teams came out headed for the rink to begin play. The National Anthem, featuring Jim Cornelison, was raucous and sent the fans into a feverous pitch. The game largely became an after thought as the between periods festivities were played out. Chance the Rapper performed and kept the crowd glued to their seats. The weather was cooperating by this time, with the rain stopping and the evening turning cooler, but tolerable. Although our team played lousy hockey and lost badly, the overall experience of an outdoor hockey game was second to none! The Wrigley Field Staff from the ticket takers, the seating personnel, and the concession stand operators, all provided a most satisfying experience to the day's events. Kudos to the fans in attendance and to the NHL for continuing the outdoor hockey experience.

Everything went as expected. Was at a non-baseball event earlier in the year and all went as expected. Thank you.
