About

One of the main originators of the modern prog-metal movement, Birmingham, Alabama's ERRA burst onto the scene in the early 2010s. The five-piece took influence from acts like Misery Signals, As I Lay Dying, Born of Osiris, and Saosin, ERRA have released numerous albums and toured with like-minded bands such as As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red, Tesseract, Ice Nine Kills, Glass Cloud, Within the Ruins, and Texas in July.

ERRA was formed in 2009 by high-school friends Alex Ballew, Jesse Cash, Adam Hicks, Garrison Lee, and Alan Rigdon. Coming out of the MySpace music era, ERRA wrote and self-released two EPS: 2009's self-titled and 2010's Andromeda. Tragic Hero Records, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, took notice of what ERRA was up to and signed them in 2011. The same year, ERRA released their debut studio album: Impulse.

The following year, Hicks left the band and was replaced by guitarist Sean Price. ERRA also began recording their sophomore studio album, Augment, which came out in October 2013. In 2014, Lee and Rigdon also left the band, and bassist Price moved to rhythm guitar, while vocalist Ian Eubanks replaced Lee.

In 2014, ERRA signed with Sumerian Records and released a new EP, Moments of Clarity, which reached No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart. In 2015, ERRA opened for August Burns Red (on their Frozen Flame tour) and Tesseract (on their Polaris tour). Eubanks also left ERRA in 2015 and was replaced by former Texas in July member J.T. Cavey.

In 2016, ERRA released their third album, Drift, which also hit No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. ERRA also toured that year on Sumerian's 10-year anniversary tour with Born of Osiris, Veil of Maya, After the Burial, and Bad Omens.

Two years later, ERRA released their fourth album, Neon, which, like its predecessor, hit No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. That fall, they went on tour with After the Burial and The Acacia Strain. The following summer, ERRA hit the road with Northlane, Crystal Lake and Currents and released a cover of Queens of the Stone Age's "You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like a Millionaire."

By 2020, ERRA opted to part ways with Sumerian Records and signed with Australian heavy-metal label UNFD. From there, they released a string of singles and announced a new, self-titled album, which dropped in March 2021. Six months later, they released an instrumental version.

In early 2022, ERRA released a deluxe version of their eponymous  effort along with the single "Nigh to Silence." Price also announced his departure from the band. When not touring with ERRA, Jesse Cash performs with his side project, Ghost Atlas.

Saw them at Orlando’s arena on Nov 1st and they were great! Out of the 5 bands, they hyped up the crowd so much. They have great energy and they are all so damn talented! Shoutout to Jesse for shredding on guitar and singing at the same time. Wage War were the main event and also hyped the crowd but for sure ERRA killed it, will 10/10 see them again! 🤟🤟

This was one of the best shows! As always, Erra brought the energy and sounded so good live and I would recommend seeing them if you haven't already. The production was insanely good too and overall an amazing experience.

  • Killer show but should have been at a bigger venue

by Bearded BB on 6/4/24Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

No complaints about the show at all. Etta and Make Them Suffer were amazing and both opening bands were killer. They sold out the small venue quickly and should have played somewhere bigger like House of Blues

Honestly probably one of my favorite bands. So glad I got to see them finally at a great venue. ERRA absolutely killed it live, they put on a hell of a show. An experience for sure, can’t wait to see them again in Detroit! ERRA 4 LIFE.

  • One of the best live bands I've seen to date.

by Dennis Weekend on 5/31/24House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

ERRA put on one of the sickest performances I have ever seen! Super good stage presence, interacted with the crowd, and all band members sounded incredibly tight. Would love to see them at The House of Blues again!

  • Must See Live Performance

    by Devin on 5/31/24Saint Andrew's Hall - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve seen ERRA live twice. Both times they’ve put on an incredible set. JT’s scream and Jesse’s clean vocals pair so well. You can see that they genuinely enjoy what they do and put passion into each song. Make a real effort to see these guys live.
