Hauser on Tour
Cellist Stjepan Hauser is best known as half of the international classical crossover sensation 2Cellos, alongside Luka Sulic. He has performed in over 40 countries and has played in some of the most important venues on the planet, from the Amsterdam Concertgebouw to Buckingham Palace. As a solo classical cellist, Hauser has competed in (often winning) many illustrious competitions, including the Adam International Cello Festival and Competition. He has performed at festivals around the world, playing works by beloved composers and even premiering new pieces. Hauser's career blew up beyond the classical world when he and friend Sulic uploaded a cover of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" to YouTube and it became a hit sensation.
Hauser Background
Born in Pula, Croatia, to a musical family — his mother was a percussionist — Hauser went on to study in Zagreb, London and eventually the United States. There, he studied under Bernard Greenhouse, the cellist for the Beaux Arts Trio, which was one of the most famous classical trios in the world. Hauser has since studied or performed with well-known musicians like Mstislav Rostropovich, Natalia Pavluskaya and Ralph Kirshbaum.
A few months after their YouTube fame, Hauser and fellow cellist Luka Sulic recorded their first album as 2Cellos. Containing music by bands like U2, Nine Inch Nails and Coldplay, the self-titled record reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Classical Albums chart and No. 85 on the Billboard Top 200. It reached No. 1 in their home country of Croatia. Going forward, their albums would continue to chart. Their sophomore effort, In2ition, featured music by Sting, Calvin Harris and Elton John. Later albums would contain more music from film scores such as Game of Thrones and Schindler's List. Tours in 2017 and 2019 took the duo around the world.
This show had many types of music and the guest violinist was amazing. Everyone on stage looked they were having fun and the music was varied from classical to latin to rock. Hauser is a true cello virtuoso and his good looks and sense of humor made this event one of our favorite shows this year!
Talented musician and great showman. The show was absolute blast. I would like him to play little more from his classical music repertoire, but it does not mean that what he played was not great. Definitely would recommend
I am not by any means a youngster and I throughly enjoyed myself. I love his music and his versatility. Adding the band and his cute sense of humor kept the audience entertained no matter what age they were. If anyone is anticipating all classical music then this would not be the show for them. The seats my son bought were in the back row center but with the large screen behind him you could see him perfectly. The only recommendation I have is the back lighting when it flashed in the white setting it totally blinded those of us in the upper section. Other than that I couldn’t have enjoyed myself more.
We enjoyed Hauser and his small band. We were expecting a band closer to the size he had in Budapest. And, that is why he only got 4 stars. The lady violinist was excellent and Hauser was also excellent.
Hauser's performance is magnificent, you must see it at least once in your life. I have been to his performances and each time I am astonished by his talent and his charming personality ✨️
This show overpass my expectations, it was great! Hauser is an amazing musician but also a fantastic entertainer. I hope he comes back to the States soon!
We spent a lovely night. The Concert is a music feast to eyes and ears. From Classic to Rock Rolls. We love Hauser!!!
Having grown up in the Bay Area I have had the opportunity to see many artists perform in music, dance and theatre. Hauser’s show at The Fox was perhaps the best concert I’ve ever seen! He is incredibly talented and brought with him a significant cadre of talented musicians. He engaged the audience multiple times which always makes a performance memorable. Bravo!
The Hauser Concert at the Fox Theater in Oakland was the BEST concert I have ever attended. Hauser's transcendence into union with the cello is spectacular. I loved Caroline Campbell joining him with her violin. The two of them lifted me into the cosmic vibrations. Listening to Caruso, La Vida Loca, Bamboléo, Quizas, Quizas Quizas, and many others was fulfilling. The fact Hauser paraded through the audience, playing the cello, the people singing with him even the group photo was magnificent! Superb! Energetic! Joyous! Funny! Wild! Ecstatic! Jubilant! Hauser gave his soul to us 100% and I am forever grateful to have experienced him, Caroline Campbell, the music and his band. This was a spellbound musical transcendent experience.
Not a perfect theater, the old spot lights are way too big and block the views from upstairs.
Wonderful concert! Hauser is a fantastic musician and an excellent entertainer. He plays the Cello so that it's not just a classical music instrument, it's an instrument that crosses all venues and types of music. One of the best shows ever!
Hauser is the best Compared to the other stages, the stage was very small for His performance And the lightning of the stage, the lights were so bright and so into our eyes it was difficult to see him….. It was kind of fluorescent; why??? And acoustics; wasn’t good either What I think is, it was a wrong place chosen for a magnificent concert like this.
Hauser always pleases with a beautiful mix of Classical, Jazz, Swing and Rock...all the performers are awesome, the bass player is adorable, and Dusan rocked the drums snd Hauser is the KING. Always kind, light hearted and amazing.
Hauser’s concert was amazing. He is such an entertainer and he’s great on the cello. His band were great musicians and very motivated. It was an incredible experience.
Wonderful performance! Hauser was able to successfully transform from 2CELLOS to his own stance. Loved the band too! Was delightfully surprised by the different styles of music and the solo performances by individual band members. Enjoyed the entire performance and would love to hear more classical pieces by Hauser if time permits.

We were expecting a classical concert and it was rock concert with a songs from other rock singers..the performance was not good at all and the stage didn’t even have piano or other classical instruments
