  • Unexpected but fabulous

by Pam L. on 12/5/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

I didn’t know what to expect with the retelling of the Greek myth, but I was pleasantly surprised. The show was fabulous! The talent, the music, and the presentation were awe-inspiring. We loved the combination of jazz and folk music. The sets were amazing, and the lighting made the audience feel at times that we were part of the show. I was exhausted at the end, but it was a good exhausted. I would highly recommend Hadestown!!

  • They knocked it out of the park!

This was my 4th time seeing Hadestown. I saw the original cast in London and on Broadway. So my expectations were not so high for a touring company. But this performance was spectacular. The music and stagecraft were incredible and I was not disappointed. The only thing missing was the stage revolve and the whole stage was considerably smaller but despite those factors, this cast nailed it.

This was my first time seeing the show and the touring ensemble brought me to tears on numerous occasions. I will be seeing it again.

this has to be now one of my favorite shows. The music, voices and overall show is a pleasure to watch. Thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband who is not a musical fan has said this was the best show he has seen.

  • Great Cast

by HMom on 12/4/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

The cast was amazing. The set was cool. There are only 2 complaints. At the end of the show, the cast sang one more song after the curtain call. I couldn't hear them. Someone turned down their mics and it was lost. I sat in section 3 and there is always a section of the stage I can't see. Not just a sliver, but a whole 1/4. It's sad. I know the seat I paid for isn't top tier, but it's unfortunate that I couldn't see beyond speakers.

Excellent musical. The staging was spectacular and the people selected to play the key roles were perfect. Music is wonderful. Incredibly moving show.
