  • Greatest show on earth

by Tay on 12/5/24Charleston Coliseum - CharlestonRating: 4 out of 5

The show was amazing! We got great tickets and it captivated all of our children from the ages of 8-1, even the adults too! Only complain is there were a bunch of ropes and Chords right infront of our seats so some of the show was kinda hard to see

  • Kinda disappointed

We took our granddaughter to the circus, she really enjoyed it with that being said her Pappy and I were both kind of disappointed. It's not "the circus"any longer. No animals, it's not the circus. It felt like we were at a concert/acrobatic show. There really was nothing CIRCUS about it. It's a shame the we let a "few"change things for the MANY.

  • Barnum and Bailey Circus

Not what I call a circus. It’s more of an acrobatic show. I know animals are now banned but there use to be people dressed as clowns interacting with the kids prior to the show starting and they don’t even do that anymore.

  • Waste of time

This was not like a circus at all! To me it was a low class street performers. Absolutely non exciting and very boring!!

  • First time

The experience was amazing, not like a traditional circus. The abilities of the performers was well captured and projected to the audience with very high energy show moving at a very fast pace

  • Lots of fun

I brought my 9 year old granddaughters to the circus as a birthday gift. They had an absolute blast and want to make it a yearly tradition. They were fascinated with all the acts. Initially, I was a little disappointed. I missed the traditional circus of my childhood memories, but after seeing their reaction, we will definitely be back.

  • Very good show.

This is the first show back for Ringling Brothers. If you notice, they have completely dropped the word Circus from all promotional material and signage. There are no animals, no live band, no traditional clowns. It's pretty much an acrobatic show. With that being said, it is obvious that they are rebranding, and for the most part doing a good job. However, they are still trying to hold onto the younger kids, and that failed, miserably. The robot dog was a waste of time. I heard no laughter and saw no excitement from anyone under the age of eight. However, the adults, including myself, really enjoyed the show. I would highly recommend the show and look forward to the next time they are in the area. However, leave the kids at home. Everything they enjoyed about The Greatest Show On Earth, is gone.

  • Decent, but not as amazing as it once was

    by Nana419 on 11/27/24Charleston Coliseum - CharlestonRating: 4 out of 5

The Ringling Bros Circus show was a good time with my family. My grandkids had never been to the circus and they loved it. The adults in our family were all kinda disappointed, we had all grown up going to the circus and found it to a bit underwhelming. The animals truly made the circus magical. It’s sad that they are no longer part of the show. I understand the animals were not treated as they deserved, but it seems like the answer would have been to improve their living conditions and how they were treated instead of just doing away with them. Overall for it was a great family night out with 3 generations of our family. I would take the kids again sometime and would recommend it to others. I would just make sure anyone that has been before understands upfront that it’s not quite “the greatest show on earth” anymore.

  • We all loved it

I asked my daughter if she enjoyed the show once it was over. She said, “how could I not?!” It was very entertaining, there was always something impressive to see and they had all the elements of a good circus. A lack of animals is NOT the be-all-end-all. I highly recommend seeing the show. Everyone else I know who saw it say they enjoyed it as well as their kids, including toddlers up to older kids.

  • A nice acrobatic show, but not the circus

by mattbuko on 11/26/24Charleston Coliseum - CharlestonRating: 3 out of 5

This was a nice acrobatic show and the performers are talented, but the company had “circus” in their name until recently and it is not considered a circus anymore. The joy I had coming to the circus to see the animals and the performances are now a part of the past that my child may never get to experience. There were no animals, no ringmaster, no trains to see coming in to town or leaving, and no preshow animal encounters. It was nice for my son to see the show once, but there’s no need to see it again.
