  • A Fun Evening with Some Missed Beats

by Kg on 10/8/24MU Health Care Capital Region Amphitheater - Jefferson CityRating: 3 out of 5

I recently took my daughter and her friends to a Taylor Swift light show, and while they had a great time overall, there were some notable disappointments. First, the show was advertised to start at 8:00 PM, but it didn’t begin until well after 8:15. While that might not seem like a huge issue, it definitely felt like a long wait when you’ve got two excited 9-year-olds who are ready to sing along and wondering why the show hasn’t started. Another confusing aspect was the DJ taking a break that lasted over 25 minutes in the middle of the event. For a show geared toward young fans who came to enjoy non-stop Taylor Swift music, this lengthy pause seemed unnecessary and broke the flow. It was a challenge keeping the kids entertained during that downtime. Given the price of the tickets, I expected better time management and a more seamless experience. That being said, my daughter and her friends still had fun, enjoying the music and light displays once the show was in full swing. However, with a few tweaks, this could have been a much better experience for families.

  • No lasers just a DJ

by Jessiemom3 on 10/8/24MU Health Care Capital Region Amphitheater - Jefferson CityRating: 3 out of 5

There were no lasers. Just a DJ Dance party with Pink Floyd glasses. I mean there were some lights above the stage but no designs. Music was fine. DJ took a long 20+ min break after only 4 songs. There were tons of kids so it could have been better suited for them (selling glow things, anything T Swift, a place for photos). It was expensive to just listen to the same Taylor Swift songs we hear at home surrounded by small kids who cracked our phone and broke my child’s glasses because they stepped on our blanket in the dark.

  • Family Fun

by Swiftie Mom with two Taylor Tots on 10/7/24MU Health Care Capital Region Amphitheater - Jefferson CityRating: 4 out of 5

Kids had fun - definitely more geared to the children than the adult swifties, but that was expected. The DJ did take a 30 minute break in the middle of the two hour set which was very weird. Many families got bored and left.

  • Great For Kids, Disappointing for Adults

by Joie on 10/7/24MU Health Care Capital Region Amphitheater - Jefferson CityRating: 1 out of 5

While Taylor Shines brought plenty of energy to the stage, it felt like this show would be better marketed for children, with ticket price adjusted accordingly. The children were the real highlight with some heartwarming moments. The performance itself fell short for adult attendees, especially with the noticeable lip-synching. As it stands, I wouldn't pay for a performance that lacks the live singing experience many adults would expect.

  • Eh, ok.

by Eh, ok. on 10/7/24MU Health Care Capital Region Amphitheater - Jefferson CityRating: 3 out of 5

The event was ok. It was fun to watch all the little swifties have a grand time. The host was not interactive and kinda boring. I could probably count the number of words she said the whole night on both of my hands alone. There was a break at maybe a halfway point, there was a large number of guests leaving at this time. I think if it was more interactive and someone to hype up the crowd, the guest would had stayed till the end. It was a great idea and probably the closest we’ll ever get to Tay Tay.

  • Not impressed

by Mom on 10/7/24MU Health Care Capital Region Amphitheater - Jefferson CityRating: 3 out of 5

It was just her music playing loud and laser lights that didn’t even move up and down, just straight out. There was a “look a like” TSwift on stage running around but u couldn’t even see her from the lawn cause they had no light on her. The girls sang and danced and had fun, I just wouldn’t spend the money again.

  • Fun for All Ages

    by KSuE1112 on 9/24/24Ford Center - EvansvilleRating: 5 out of 5

There were people of all ages that attended this event. The turnout may not have been what they thought it would be so they allowed everyone to come to the floor. It was so much fun to watch the light shows and sing some of Taylor’s best songs. Definitely would recommend.

  • Not what I expected

    by bravesfan10c on 9/24/24Ford Center - EvansvilleRating: 2 out of 5

Music was great and the laser lights and screen projections were fine but I really felt like I was at a middle school dance party with a DJ and a video background. We sat in our seats, even though we were offered to go to the floor- it was General admission with no seating on the floor. I guess I just expected more interaction, more videos and more than just one person acting as a DJ, dancing around on stage.

  • Fabulous night for the family

    by SwiftieMom45 on 8/16/24Rating: 5 out of 5

My neighbor and I took our pre-teen girls to see Taylor Shines last weekend. It was heartwarming to see Swifties of all ages singing every word to the songs the whole night! Our girls had never been to a concert event and are still talking about the show. The best TS songs were played and Jexxa, the TS performer and singer was extremely entertaining and she has a great voice!! The Laser Spectacular was over the top and the lighting and sound was top notch. I’d recommend this show to to all the moms and girls that love Taylor Swift!
