  • Surprisingly Great Show

by SpecialJ on 7/20/09Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater - Peachtree CityRating: 5 out of 5

When I purchased my tickets all I knew was that I loved the Spinners. I couldn't remember all of the songs they recorded but I did have that warm and fuzzy feeling recallling many hours listening to their albums when I was young and in love or just after a break-up (smile). I went with my sister and a friend and we just loved the show. It started out slow and with each song they sang the momentum escalated until everyone just stayed on their feet, danced and sang along. There are still two original Spinners and three "youngins". The new tenor (Big Sexy) filled the old shoes just fine. The bass singer had that old school bass voice that you just don't hear anymore. We didn't have to endure songs we'd never heard from a new album and something just to fill in the time. It was one hit after another. We loved it. We just loved it.

The concert was excellent, we definitely got our money's worth! I drove up from Charlotte, NC to see the Spinners and it was great.

Probably the best concert I've attended in years. It really took me back and rekindled some fond memories. Impressed with the way Henry and Bobby still had the moves!

  • Spinners were fantastic!

The Spinners performed most of their hit songs. It would have been better if the performance was longer (only one hour). The crowd was small and seemed to enjoy the show but did not get into the music much. There were two original band members left and the newbies were great. One of the original singers need to practice more or retire as his voice is not as strong as it once was. Overall, I enjoyed the show!

  • The Spinners - Still Spinning Great Tunes !!!

by Charliemcga on 7/20/09Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater - Peachtree CityRating: 4 out of 5

"The Fred" in Peachtree City is one of the best places to see an outdoor concert because of the great sound system and the design of the amphitheatre. Chastain Park, in Buckhead (Atlanta, GA) can never touch the quality of sound or better seating arrangement of "The Fred" . The Spinners band was great, the three younger singers were outstanding and their dancing is fabulous. I'm amazed at how good the two original members are still singing and dancing.

  • Very satisfied

Initially i was thrown off by the 3 new members of the group, but after hearing the lead singer , i was blown away and very impressed. The original 2 members still had the moves which was nice to see. My only complaint is that they didnt do one of my favorite songs; How could i let you get away". Other wise, a great show.

  • Absolutely delightful!

The Spinners were absolutely fantastic. It was so great to hear two of the original singers while enjoying the new members who were absolutely fantastic. They all blended so well together. Everyone was on their feet - young and old!

  • Spinners still going strong...old and new.

by Oldschooler on 7/18/09Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater - Peachtree CityRating: 4 out of 5

What a great evening with the Spinners. I have loved them for many years and this was an opportunity to hear all of those greatest hits. The new Spinners sound like the old Spinners. The amphitheater was a great place for them to be.

  • The Spinners were awesome ! A fantastic show!

by Jitney on 7/18/09Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater - Peachtree CityRating: 5 out of 5

The Spinners put on a GREAT show, performing most of their major hits. They kept the crowd involved and displayed energy and passion through out the entire show. This was my first trip to this venew, the Fred Brown amphitheatre, and boy, was it impressive. Nestled in the woods, it was clean, modern, and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. It was obvious that their desire was to make sure the patrons had a good experience. The staff even lined the corridor at the end of the show thanking the customers for coming. An overall outstanding evening under the stars.

Great energy. Great vocals. Great dancing. Great to hear those songs again. Although there are only two "original" Spinners, the new guys are keeping their music and traditions alive and well. Bob Smith isnt hitting all the high notes anymore, but he still does a great job of being the lead singer. When he defers to the newer, younger guys it sounds just like when we used to listen to them on our am radio's. They work real hard to put on a good show. And it works. Really, really appreciated their songs back in the day. Really loved hearing them sing it for us live. Loved the show. Great voices.
