Buffalo Sabres History
The Sabres joined the NHL in the 1970 expansion, and just two years later embarked on a streak that saw them reach the playoffs in 12 of the next 13 seasons. Leading the way were "The French Connection" line of Hall of Fame center Gilbert Perreault, left-wing Rick Martin, and right-wing René Robert. The Quebec-born trio was together in Buffalo from 1972 through 1979. Aided by Craig Ramsay, the Sabres and their French Connection advanced to the 1975 Stanley Cup Final in their fifth season, though they fell in six games to the Philadelphia Flyers.
In the following 10 seasons, all of which resulted in playoff berths, the Sabres captured two division titles. Fueled by defenseman (and former U.S. Olympic star) Mike Ramsey, the Sabres made nine playoff appearances between the 1981–1982 and 1991–1992 seasons. Later, during goaltender Dominik Hasek's nine seasons, the Sabres continued to be a consistent playoff team. In 1999, they dispatched the Ottawa Senators, Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs in the playoffs to again reach the Stanley Cup Finals, where they fell to the Dallas Stars in six games.
In 2006 and 2007 the Sabres made it as far as the conference finals before succumbing to the Carolina Hurricanes and Ottawa Senators, respectively. To date, the Sabres have been in the playoffs 29 times, winning six divisional championships and three conference titles.

It was great to see a full house and the Sabres win. The only downside is that the sound system is played too loudly (FYI - I am a Bills Season Ticket holder so I'm comparing to the Highmark experience). The energy needs to come from the fans - not an over done sound system.
Love the key bank arena 🍁. Seats are great for hockey. Prices are decent. Lots of space to move around during the breaks. 2 suggestions 1. Alcohol prices are insane. If you goto Toronto they are 30% cheaper. 2. Washrooms need a reno. Add more.
Excellent venue with easy access and plenty of parking
Although we enjoyed the game, unfortunately it was cold and there was a cold draft blowing down on us. Also the band and speakers are probably at hearing damaging decibels. Otherwise, the venue is very nice, with excellent access and tickets are reasonably priced. Food and drinks, however, are exorbitantly pricey. Security and other staff were very friendly and helpful.
It was a clean and easy place to move around. Lots of security to help and get you through. Easy to find your seat as numbers are big and can be found. It was raining and snowing at the time. Buffalo train was out side waiting for the game to be over to pick people up so don’t have to stand in street to wait. Good time. I like that the parking lot across the street from keybank as well
It was a rare afternoon game and the arena was 3/4 full. Fun atmosphere and an enjoyable game. Lots of Canadiens fans who were treated as welcome guests by the Buffalo fans. All staff at the arena were helpful and attentive
KeyBank is a decent venue. A little dated, and concessions aren’t the best. New scoreboard is nice. Parking is super easy and not too expensive.
Need better checking and scoring. Lynde needs to keep the pressure up.
Saw the Sabres win from section 327 and the experience was great plus that new Jumbotron is amazing
Not sure why the tickets are not available until the day before the event when purchased months in advance.
