Cleveland Browns Team History

The Cleveland Browns franchise was founded in 1945 as a member of the All-America Football Conference. With the establishment of the team during World War II, the Browns did not play their first regular-season game until 1946, after the war ended. In 1950, the Browns were selected as one of only three AAFC teams to merge with the National Football League.

During their first 40 years in the NFL, the Browns reached the playoffs 22 times. They won four NFL championships between 1950 and 1964, 11 NFL American/Eastern Conference championships, and three NFL Century Division titles. They also won AFC Central Division championships in 1971, 1980, 1985, 1986, 1987, and 1989. In addition, 23 former Browns have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, including Jim Brown, Paul Brown, Otto Graham, Lou Groza, and Marion Motley and Bill Willis — two of the four Black players who helped break the NFL’s race barrier in 1946.

Cleveland Browns at Huntington Bank Field

Huntington Bank Field (previously known as Cleveland Browns Stadium and FirstEnergy Stadium) is located on the shore of Lake Erie in Cleveland, Ohio. The Cleveland Browns played their first regular-season game at the stadium on September 12, 1999, when the Browns took on division rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers. Huntington Bank Field is built on the same site as Cleveland Municipal Stadium, the former home of the Cleveland Browns. In 2015, the Browns, with the City of Cleveland's support, completed a two-year modernization project of the stadium.

Everything started out nice. After the kickoff it was a joke. Including tickets that were duplicates to the people in my section.Having security come just when I wanted to see a long field goal attempt . After the last interception I left only to see that the escalators were shut down.

Browns training camp is something as a native Clevelander, I love to attend. I am now sharing the tradition with my kiddos! This year was amazing! My sons and daughter had a blast, were able to get some autographs, and had some great experiences with some of the players! I really want to shout out James Proche; he took the time to interact with young fans after training camp, gave autographs, his gloves and the shirts off of his back to some young fans! He is such a humble, respectful, kind young man! Cam Williams was so great with young fans after practice as well! Grant Delpit was gracious and gave my son an autograph while he was practicing. Kevin Stefanski also gave my kiddos an autograph after practice, and they were so excited! Looking forward to bringing my kids next year if we can get tickets! Thank you for opening your camp and giving this unique experience to fans young and old.

  • Fun-ish

This was our first time at Training Camp. It seemed odd to me that there was some kind of scrimmage - on the OTHER side of the field, so the view from the Bleachers/General Seating was awful! The food options were not good and too pricy - definitely should have a few legitimate food trucks instead of the random no name food that was served. Wish there was more than a football throwing/40 yard dash experience for kids - and not knowing when to line up for autographs (because NOTHING was announced) was kind of frustrating. I assumed there would be some type of crowd interaction and was surprised that there was NOTHING. I know the players are technically practicing but it's also an OPEN practice, thought there would be much more interaction with the fans besides just autographs at the end for limited people. At least Myles Garrett waved :)

I would have liked to see the players interact more with the fans but I know they were there to practice..

Beautiful stadium. Very clean and well organized. Concessions were plentiful with easy self checkout kiosks. Bathrooms were conveniently located near main areas
