Miami HEAT History

Founded in 1988 as an expansion franchise, the Miami HEAT are one of the NBA's premier organizations, laying claim to 16 Southeast Division titles, seven Eastern Conference titles, and three NBA Championships. After hiring renowned NBA coach Pat Riley in 1995, the team won its first Championship in 2006, led by Hall of Famers Shaquille O'Neal, Dwyane Wade, Alonzo Mourning, and Gary Payton. Miami then captured back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013 with their “Big Three” consisting of Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh.

In the summer of 2019, much of the team's current core began to take shape, as the HEAT drafted guard Tyler Herro, then acquired All-Star guard Jimmy Butler to round out a roster that already featured promising big Bam Adebayo. In their current form, the team has reached the Finals twice (in 2020 and 2023).

  • Miami Heat is fun

by Heat games are always amazing on 1/4/25Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

The game and atmosphere were fun and inviting, family-friendly yet not sophomoric. Attendants catered to me and those nearby, providing snacks and drinks. The fan engagement team and ushers were friendly and helpful. However, I have two complaints regarding logistics: first, getting inside the arena was challenging. I was directed to three different entrances by staff, and the lines were long despite arriving 45 minutes before game time to avoid them. Second, when leaving the arena, there were no clear spaces for Uber or rideshare pickup. Designating an area like airports do might improve the experience for people trying to order Ubers from all directions. I ended up walking 30 minutes to a nearby hotel to order my Uber, which was an hour after the game ended. Please improve logistics around the arena for future games. The inside is amazing; focus on improving the outside experience.

My first visit to the USA all the way from Malta 🇲🇹 in Europe was an unforgettable adventure! I've always dreamed of attending an NBA game, especially as a Miami Heat fan cheering from home. • Excellent Ticketmaster experience !

by Stu on 12/7/24Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Ticketmaster was fine. However The Heat Organization left me cold. They pledged a free chicken sandwich at Chick-Fil-A for all ticket holders if the opposing player missed both free-throws right before he setup at the free-throw line. The opposing player missed both free throws ! The announcer was overjoyed and again pledged a free chicken sandwich at Chick-Fil-A ! My son and I arrived at Chick-Fil-A the next day and the manager and employees had no information regarding free Chick-Fil-A sandwiches for Heat game ticket holders.
