Memphis Grizzlies History
As the Vancouver Grizzlies, the team joined the NBA in 1995 along with the Toronto Raptors as the league expanded to Canada. The Grizzlies’ early struggles — six consecutive seasons with no more than 23 victories — hurt attendance. Ownership found open arms in Memphis, and moved the franchise there in 2001.
The first year in Memphis, they drafted forward Pau Gasol, who would go on to win NBA Rookie of the Year, become the franchise's first All-Star and, eventually, the Grizzlies' all-time leading scorer and rebounder. In 2002, the Grizzlies brought on Jerry West as general manager, and the franchise reversed course. In the 2003–04 season, they posted a winning record, making the playoffs for the first of three consecutive seasons.
A four-year absence followed, but sparked by Zach Randolph, Rudy Gay, and Mike Conley, and helmed by coach Lionel Hollins, the Grizzlies returned to the playoffs in the 2010–11 season, upsetting the San Antonio Spurs in the first round before losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder in seven games in the conference semifinals. It was the first of seven consecutive playoff appearances for the “Grit and Grind” Grizzlies.
The 2020–21 season saw the Grizzlies finish the season with a winning record (38-34) and win two play-in games to clinch the eighth seed in the Western Conference. Following the 2022–23 season, power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. won the Defensive Player of the Year Award.

Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum
The Grizzlies have called FedExForum home since 2004, three years after the franchise relocated to Memphis from Vancouver. Those first three seasons, the Grizzlies played in the Pyramid, but the landmark venue needed costly upgrades to meet NBA standards. Construction of a $250 million arena was found to be more feasible.
The dome-shaped venue on Memphis' historic Beale Street pays homage to the city's rich music history, boasting murals, photographs and themed restaurants and clubs throughout. FedExForum has undergone several renovations since its initial construction, including a state-of-the-art, high-definition scoreboard and video screen installed in 2017. The arena was also the first in the NBA to have "see-through" shot clocks, so fans’ views of the court were not obstructed.
Tickets for the 2024–25 regular season can be purchased on Ticketmaster, the Official Ticket Marketplace of the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Memphis Grizzlies are hands down the most entertaining and fun team in the NBA. And the entire staff is the best there is. All ushers and workers at FedEx forum are so fun, hype, helpful, and kind. All the entertainment is phenomenal. Best NBA experience around.
It was definitely worth the drive although my daughter was disappointed Ja didn’t play it was still awesome game.
A game in the FedEx forum with the home team is the best kind of experience. The energy and the shared love for the team make it a memorable game.
1st NBA game for my family & we enjoyed it throughout the entire game!
My son and I flew in from New York to see the Grizzlies play New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. We had the best experience both days! The arena is super clean. The staff is very nice and helpful. Plenty of places to eat! We will be back! We are huge fans! Ild have season passes if I lived closer!
It was our first time taking our 8yr old daughter to a NBA game. We did purchase cheap tickets. It’s all about the experience. She loved it. The seating is nice and comfortable. The food places provided great customer service. We will be back for another game soon.
Hey Ticketmaster, me and my (now) fiancée had an amazing time at the game. I loved the atmosphere of the event and purchasing tickets for the event and finding our seats was seamless as can be. I have had an easy time booking events the last few times with Ticketmaster and I look forward to the next.
This was our first NBA game and it was pretty good. We were kinda lost but managed to get to where we needed to be. The food was not good at all.
I enjoyed myself and the bbq nacho are delicious. The grizzly are on a roll and if they keep it up I’m going to have to get more tickets. Pinnacle seats where nice.
Get rid of the kids being for money. That is so annoying.
It was alright but seated to high will try to get better seating next time
My very first NBA game and it was the best experience! The game will definitely keep you pumped and the entertainment was a treat to see. Next time I’m in Memphis I will make a trip to see the Grizzlies again!
Buy tickets immediately. The Grizzlies are so much fun to watch and their timeout/halftime entertainments are super fun. You need to get to a Grizzlies game ASAP!
The Grizzlies have one of, if not the best, playoff basketball experiences in the NBA. Extremely loud and welcoming environment to all fans. If you're debating going to any Grizzlies game, you need to buy the tickets. Don't worry about the price, it's worth every penny and then some.
I am a Celtics fan first, Grizzlies second so when I saw the Celtics were playing the Grizzlies at home, I had to go. The arena was very clean. Staff were friendly. Parking was nearby. The line to enter the arena moved swiftly. Security seemed thorough. I had a great time overall. No complaints.
Man it was epic!!! I love Ja and the Celtics are my favorite team so I was definitely in for a treat! Wish I could have got autographs and met players!!!
Very great venue and game! My seats were phenomenal! I highly recommend people sitting in the 109A, 110A, AA area. You won’t be disappointed!
