About

CF Montréal History

CF Montréal (formerly known as Montréal Impact) joined Major League Soccer as an expansion franchise in 2012, becoming the league's third Canadian team. For much of the team's existence, the centerpiece of its attack was MLS All-Star midfielder Ignacio “Nacho” Piatti, who was later joined by fellow All-Star Didier Drogba.

In 2015, the duo of Piatti and Drogba combined for 24 goals and led Montréal to the club's best season. Drogba recorded three of those goals in his debut with the club, a victory over the Chicago Fire. CF Montréal finished third in the Eastern Conference that year and advanced to the CONCACAF Champions League Final. They were the second MLS team — and first Canadian team — to do so. Since entering the MLS, CF Montréal have collected four Voyageurs Cup trophies at the annual Canadian Championship.

  • Good game, poor venue

by Clo on 3/22/23Stade olympique - MontrealRating: 3 out of 5

We enjoyed our CF Montreal game and it concluded with a great win! On the other hand, as much as we enjoy and celebrate our beloved Stade Olympique, major improvements need to be addressed. The food concessions, the infinite line up (to the parking, to get inside, to buy drinks and food and often not at the same stand…) We do love the atmosphere of the stade but to create a great experience for the public, they will have to level up their game (and I’m not talking about the soccer team!)

  • Long lines and food not great!

by CK on 3/21/23Stade olympique - MontrealRating: 2 out of 5

Line up are ridiculous arriver at 6PM got in at 7:10PM. WaitHing in the cold for over an hour. Waiting for 40 min to get food and snacks. Prices are ridiculously high and the quality of the food is so bad, no taste, cold popcorn hamburgers pizza is elastic. On another note the game and the ambiance was amazing!

  • Bad organisation

by Vincent on 3/21/23Stade olympique - MontrealRating: 2 out of 5

Thé match was great. The organisation to go to the match was horrible. I am an old fan and went to over 100games of the CF Montreal Impact. This was by far the worst experience to be able to get to my seat

  • Impact Montreal game was awesome

    by MJ1105 on 8/28/12STADE SAPUTO - MONTREALRating: 5 out of 5

We were visiting Montreal and decided to catch an Impact Montreal game. What a great time! The fans are energetic and team is doing great!

  • Great atmosphere for a game

    by James2x on 7/30/12STADE SAPUTO - MONTREALRating: 4 out of 5

We came from the U.S. and attended a sold-out game against the first-place New York team. Brand new stadium. The whole ambiance of the place is fan-friendly and the crowd is VERY enthusiastic. Comfortable seats, great view, great prices, nice setting. This experience alone makes us want to attend another game here.

Well, now Toronto FC has two wins. All three goals were in front of us, Impact supporters were not pleased. We were visiting from Philadelphia, Toronto's other victim.

  • Saputo Stadium is badly designed

    by Migs78 on 6/18/12STADE SAPUTO - MONTREALRating: 2 out of 5

We paid 32 $ x ticket and were seated in section 130. Even though we were behind the goal, 11 rows up, the view to the goal was almost completely restricted! This was partially due to the stadium metal fences in the curve along with poor design of the structure. Very upset by this. Also, in case of rain are we going to be all completely soaked up?

  • Galaxy v Impact

    by void819 on 6/12/12Stade Olympique - MontrealRating: 4 out of 5

I had a great time in Montreal's Stade Olympique. The beers were rather small for the price but the great atmosphere due to the record crowd.

  • A Wonderful Experience!

by WhinyMcGee on 6/11/12Olympic Stadium - Stade Olympique - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

I was in Montreal for the weekend, so I was trying to find things to do, and noticed that Montreal now has a team, and that they were playing the LA Galaxy at Olympic Stadium. Easy to get to via Metro, entering and leaving the stadium was very organized. The game itself was quite exciting as well - over 60,000 fans (many, perhaps, to see David Beckham in action), it was fun to watch. Not being a soccer fan, and having heard many people complain about how nothing happens, I was quite surprised to find out that is was fast-paced and quite exciting. Hopefully, the team will maintain its popularity, and I'll get an opportunity to see them again.
