Events across Netherlands, US and China to feature speakers including Fiona Sperry, Prof Tracey Fullerton and Prof Dana Carney

Unity announces global Women in Gaming talks

Engine firm Unity has launched a series of workshops aimed at advocating and support women in the development industry.

The initial five talks will kick off at Unity Europe in Amsterdam on June 1st, with Three Field Entertainment founder Fiona Sperry (pictured) speaking.

Following this, UC Berkeley professor Dana Carney; NetEase’s Amy Huang, Firevale’s Evelyn Liu and Shenzenware’s Yanyan Xiong; TextPlus COO Nanea Reeves and USC professor Tracey Fullerton will hold talks in San Fransisco, Shanghai and Los Angeles, respectively.

Unity said the events would see the experts share the “insights and tips they’ve gathered on a range of topics geared towards helping women improve their strategic thinking, influence and career navigation in the gaming industry”.

The events are free and open to the public, but have limited seating.

“As we began to look at more ways to develop our employees internally, we realised it made sense to broaden our efforts industry wide," said chief people officer Elizabeth Brown.

“These events are an important platform for women to come together in a collaborative setting and learn from each other, which is key to ensuring their ongoing success in the gaming and tech communities.”
