CEO Rod Humble departs Linden Labs

Linden Labs CEO Rod Humble has revealed on Facebook that he’s leaving the company behind Second Life.

Gamasutra confirmed the contents of the message, sent last week, which state that Humble is heading to a startup company.

"It’s been a great 3 years! All my thanks to my colleagues at Linden Lab and our wonderful customers I wish you the very best for the future and continued success!” he wrote.

“I am starting up a company to make Art, Entertainment and unusual things! More on that in a few weeks!"

Humble previously worked on The Sims franchise at Maxix and Sony Online Entertinment’s EverQuest.

He has developed several experimental titles on his own, but there aren’t any details yet about his new startup.
