Fear studio to apply its FPS expertise to 'multiplayer-focused' title

Monolith building download-only Batman shooter

Washington studio Monolith Productions is building a download-only FPS using the Batman licence, publisher Warner Bros has announced.

Warner Bros-owned Monolith, famous for its string of successful Fear games, is currently working on the new title Gotham City Impostors.

The publisher is bucking trends by not releasing Gotham City Impostors through retail; the title is to be released on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.

It will also be released across one or more PC digital channels. No release date has been issued.

“Monolith is creating a game that turns Gotham City upside down,” said Warner Bros Interactive exec Samantha Ryan.

“We think fans are going to have a blast with this creative twist on multiplayer heroism and anti-heroism.”
