Sega will announce a new game from Two Point Studios today

Sega is making an announcement today, after several teases on social media, and it could be a spiritual successor to Theme Park, if rumours are to be believed.

Here’s what we know.

Sega tweeted out a picture of a light bulb with the date January 16 written in text next to it.

This is the date at which Two Point Studios, a small Surrey-based studio made up of ex-Bullfrog and Lionhead staff with a Twitter bio stating "making sim games with Sega Europe" said they’d be revealing details of their new game, back in November.

Yesterday on January 15 Sega tweeted again, with the same light bulb, accompanied with the studio’s logo and the text "two-morrow" making any sleuthing in the previous paragraph irrelevant.

Two Point started up in 2016, signing a publishing deal with Sega in 2017. The studio was founded by several ex-Lionhead bods, but notably includes Mark Webley and Gary Carr, who worked together across Theme Hospital, Black & White and Fable.

ResetEra have dug up the trademark for Two Point Hospital, which suggests what we’re getting could be, could being operative word, a spiritual successor to Theme Hospital, which for my money is the finest of all of the Theme games.

Still, it’s all just speculation until Sega reveal the thing, after all, what does a light bulb have to do with a hospital?

We’ll find out more today, at which point we’ll update the story.
