The tragic saga of Batman Arkham Knight has continued, as the studio behind the game’s Mac and Linux versions reveals it has halted development.
Feral Interactive announced that it was working on bringing Rocksteady’s final entry in the Arkham series to Ubuntu and OS X a year ago, with a SteamOS – which is also based on Linux – version also unveiled.
The outlet succinctly confirmed that it would offer refunds to Steam users who had pre-ordered the game via a post on Arkham Knight’s forum.
"We are very sorry to confirm that Batman Arkham Knight will no longer be coming to Mac and Linux,” it said.
“If you have pre-ordered Batman Arkham Knight for Mac or Linux, please apply for a refund via Steam."
It’s the latest in a long and well-documented series of woes for the game on PC, following multiple long delays, damning persistent technical issues and several rounds of refunds offered by Warner Bros in the face of widespread criticism.
