The PC community is once again up in arms about Warner Bros’ treatment of one of its key releases.
The publisher has announced a new version of the game called Mortal Kombat XL, which features the original title, all of its subsequent DLC and the upcoming Kombat Pack 2 that brings with it new playable characters including the xenomorph from the Aliens franchise and Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s Leatherface.
However, it has now been confirmed by NetherRealm community manager Tyler Lansdown that both the XL version of the game and Kombat Pack 2 will only be released for the PS4 and Xbox One titles.
The news has left those who invested in the PC release most displeased, as is quickly being reflected in the game’s Steam forums. The ill-feeling is certainly not abated by the fact that the game launched in quite a poor state on PC, has proved problematic online for many and has not been updated since September. Nor is the upcoming beta test of the fighter’s improved netcode scheduled for PC.
Warner rubbed PC gamers up the wrong way last year by releasing a broken version of Batman: Arkham Knight. Although it was subsequently re-released, Warner subsequently admitted that it will never be able to fix all of the problems.
