Techland is increasing the price of the Season Pass for its zombie game Dying Light.
Currently the Season Pass costs 15.99. However, this will be increased to 23.99 on December 8th.
The studio says it’s doing this because upcoming expansion The Following has grown in scale and now offers more content than previously expected. Indeed, the DLC was announced as a $14.99 release for non Season Pass holders back in September. That has been upped, too, to $19.99 (or 15.99 in the UK).
However, those who have already paid for the Season Pass will still get access to the new content, despite the price hike.
Over the past weeks Dying Light: The Following has almost reached its final stage: main quests, side quests, new skills, and driving challenges are ready,” the studio said. We now are moving into the polishing period. Looking at it, it’s clear how big the expansion pack has grown – it could be a stand-alone title, but since it would mean a launch delay, we decided against it.
We didn’t want [the price increase] to come as a surprise to you, so we’re announcing it in advance. This price change will not affect players who already own the Season Pass.”
