The PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight is today a significantly better beast after the release last night of its long-awaited patch.
The fix yesterday became briefly available to beta testers before being unceremoniously yanked again. However, all owners of the PC game can now download the 600MB+ file and enjoy a host of improvements.
Fixes include a reduction in frame rate hitches, optimised RAM and VRAM usage, blanket performance improvements across all GPUS, the eradication of the low resolution texture bug and the introduction of previously missing in-game graphics options.
However, there’s still work to do and Warner says Rocksteady continues its efforts for the next patch that will bring with it SLI and Crossfire support, the Photo Mode already added to the console releases and of course the still missing-in-action DLC and Season pass content.
Also still in the works is a fix for the Windows 7 bug that means users with 8GB of system RAM and some Nvidia GPUs find themselves running out of accessible memory, as well as a different bug hitting some Windows 10 users with AMD cards.
What hasn’t been revealed is when the game will once again go on sale.
