Over a million copies of LEGO Batman have been sold in the UK since the game’s launch in late 2008, publisher Warner Bros. has this morning confirmed.
The 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, DS, PSP and PC game has been a staple of the charts, boosted most recently by its part in Microsoft’s latest hardware bundle along with Disney’s off-road racer Pure.
LEGO Batman currently sits at 16 in the UK All Formats chart (for the chart based on the week ending January 23rd).
It bodes well for developer TT Games’ next LEGO game, based on the Harry Potter books – previous LEGO games based on Star Wars and Indiana Jones have also been strong, consistent sellers.
The team at TT Games worked incredibly hard to make LEGO Batman: The Videogame a very fun experience for players,” commented Tom Stone, MD of TT Games.
We are delighted to know that so many people are enjoying the game.”
Selling one million units of LEGO Batman: The Videogame in the UK marks a great milestone for Warner Bros,” added Spencer Crossley, UK sales and marketing director, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
The fact that the title continues to remain on the best-selling charts more than a year after its release is a testament to the best-in-class gameplay TT Games continues to deliver.”
