Entertainment giant swoops for Lego Star Wars developer

Warner Bros buys Travellers’ Tales

Warner Bros has announced it is to acquire developer Traveller’s Tales and its publishing owner TT Games.

The studio will keep its name, and will continue to work with current partners such as Lego, LucasArts and Guinness World Records.

Traveller’s Tales is a three-time winner of Develop’s Industry Excellence Award for Best Independent Studio. It is widely regarded in the industry and amongst consumers for its work on the Lego Star Wars games and other games targetted at kids – it’s also working on upcoming Lego Batman and Indiana Jones games.

"TT Games is very successful and respected in the game development and publishing world," Warner Bros chairman and CEO Barry Meyer stated. "They are a great fit for us and the right next step for Warner Bros as we grow into a significant presence in the games space."

Tom Stone, MD of TT Games Publishing, added: "Warner Bros has an extraordinary track record in nurturing and developing intellectual property in television, in movies and now in games. That history combined with their world class distribution muscle promises a very exciting future for all of us at TT Games.”
