Doom takes No.1 after UK price cut, Overwatch slips to second place

Bethesda’s new Doom has ended Overwatch’s three-weeks at the top of the UK charts.

The title saw a 57 per cent rise in sales due to a reduction in price that saw retailers selling the game for 30. It shot to first place from third.

This is the first time a Bethesda title has been No.1 since Fallout 4 at the end of 2015.

Not only that, it was the first time developer ID has had a PC No.1 since Doom 3 in 2004.

Blizzard’s Overwatch falls from first to second place as sales dipped 24 per cent. Uncharted 4’s sales also rose one per cent week-on-week.

Some older titles saw sales rises this week. FIFA 16 rose 21 per cent, while Grand Theft Auto V saw a 20 per cent rise. Both rose by one place to fourth and fifth place respectively.

Last week’s new game from EA, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, fell to No.6, but sales only dropped 62 per cent.

Below is the software Top Ten for the week ending June 18th:

1. Doom, Bethesda

3. Uncharted: A Thief’s End, Sony
4. FIFA 16, EA
5. Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar
