"Experimental" Ouya ad takes aim at traditional gaming

An ad that was posted on Ouya’s official YouTube channel has certainly succeeded in catching the attention.

Called ‘Sixty Bucks For A Game’, the 30-second short has since been pulled from Ouya’s channel but can be seen below via a mirror.

It sees a gamer react negatively to a session of a game entitled ‘Medal of Duty XII’. He expresses his displeasure by vomiting. A lot. Until his whole living room is filled with it, in fact. Then he pulls out his own jaw and spine and beats himself to near death with it.

The upshot? Stop playing the same old stuff over and over and try something new, like the Ouya.

MCV quite likes the ad to be fair, but the wider reaction from much of the press was not so kind. An Ouya rep told Kotaku that the ad wasn’t official”, stating:

We are experimenting with animated content and posted this video briefly to get feedback from our community. Stay tuned for our official video.”
