Maxwell leaves Future for Eurogamer

Simon Maxwell is to leave Future Publishing – to become publishing director at Eurogamer.

Maxwell will leave his post as group publishing director of entertainment and be working at the Brighton-based Eurogamer from October 1st.

He has been working at Future for 9 years, joining in 2003 after stints at IPC and Cabal.

At Future he has gradually taken on more responsibilities across all of the publisher’s entertainment outlets.

He first worked in its film group for seven years, where he served as group publisher. He moved over to games in March 2010, taking on a combined responsibility for both games and films in October 2010.

A year later he was named group publishing director for entertainment, in charge of multi-channel expansion, specifically digital products for games.
