Blizzard sells out 450-seat arena for first day of Overwatch League

The inaugural season of the Overwatch League is nearly here, and Blizzard has already announced that the first day is now officially sold out.

The Overwatch League’s Twitter account announced the news late on Sunday night, revealing that they’d sold out for the day one match between San Francisco Shock and Los Angeles Valiant, filling the 450-seater Blizzard Arena with eager fans at $20 a ticket.

450 seats is a pretty limited amount of seats, so the sold out arena doesn’t guarantee anything, but after Blizzard have been slowly building the Overwatch League since November 2016 it’s heartening to see that the audience is interested. The live viewers will likely be significantly higher, but a roaring crowd is good news for the live presentation, for sure.
