Onslaught eSports has announced its acquisition of esports organisation Roanoke Reign, formerly known as Virtue Gaming.
The acquisition comes with many senior figures at Roanoke Reign, with Onslaught taking on several parts of the senior management team: Reign CEO and Founder Brent J. Beckner and chief operating officer Dawn Lozner are being absorbed into Onslaughter.
This move brings several top level fighting competitors to Onslaught, including Super Smash Bros pro Daniel ‘UUAA’ Diaz, in addition to many content creators, and Roanoke Reign’s Call of Duty Pro League roster.
Onslaught COO Jen Dalton used to serve as Virtue’s GM under Beckner before they rebranded, and bringing the two back together is a homecoming of sorts for Dalton. Speaking on the merger she said: “I have always maintained both a great working and personal relationship with Brent and a lot of what Reign stands for today is reflected in our work together under Virtue.”
“It was honestly hard to leave my Virtue family to come to Onslaught, so this reunion is the best of both worlds in my eyes – a great partnership, and a reunion of old friends.”
Beckner added: “Onslaught is an upstanding organisation with superb leadership which will allow everyone involved in this merger the ability to succeed. Onslaught exemplify similar values that I drove our business on and have the necessary tools at hand to ensure both success and growth for their members. I look forward to working with Patrick, Jen, and the rest of Onslaught moving forward.”
