Yesterday, a new patch for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was released. However, it’s drawn ire from fans as it doesn’t address ‘snaking’, which is perceived as one of the biggest issues at high-level play right now.
Snaking is a form of movement where players will rapidly move between prone and standing, making it difficult to get a bead on them. It’s not entirely dissimilar from the ‘Dolphin Dive’, which in earlier Call of Duty titles involved hitting prone while running when you saw someone to drop to the floor and avoid incoming fire rapidly.
The lack of a fix has been surprising for the pro-scene, who widely believed that snaking would be altered or even removed entirely in the patch.
There were also some new weapons and scorestreak customisation options, but as these are generally not allowed in competition play, it could be viewed as a disappointing patch for the professional scene.
