KeSPA has announced on Tuesday that it has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Legacy Pro Law, an American legal company based in Los Angeles
This means that Legacy Pro Law will be available to offer legal counsel to players on KeSPA team, with the MOU outlining that the law firm will give legal advice with regards to taxes, contractual concerns, visa acquirement and other areas of concern for players competing in League of Legends and Fifa Online 3.
“We are happy to assist the highly esteemed players of Korea be active in the confines of the law,” secretary general Cho Man-su said in a statement.
“We hope that players will be able to receive the legal help they need. We plan to continue to protect the rights of not only association professionals but for amateur players too.”
Amateur players and players active outside of Korea can also make use of the agreement. The first crop of amateurs listed on the system will be the players listed after this year’s tryouts.
“It is incredibly meaningful to the firm that it will be able to assist in players being active in the global league,” Legacy Pro Law representative lawyer Lee Ki-nam said in a statement. “We believe that our legal expertise and experience will help in players expand further into the global market.”
