Evil Geniuses announced last week that CEO Peter ‘ppd’ Dager will be departing the role.
Dager is stepping away as part of a top level restructure of Evil Geniuses’ management team, while will see Phillip Aram, the team’s current Dota 2 manager, step up and assume the role of COO.
Aram will expand his team to help with running the company and its Dota 2 roster.
In a press release posted to Facebook, Dager said: “Removing myself from the CEO position at Evil Geniuses was a personal decision based entirely on my desires both personally and professionally. Over the course of my playing and management career at EG, I have become attached to the organization as well as the countless supporters of our rosters.
Leaving EG will be bittersweet, but ultimately I see nothing but a successful future for both myself and the organization I am leaving behind. I want to thank all of the staff and teammates who I have been fortunate to work with over the last four years and will continue to wish them nothing but continued success."
The parting is described in the statement as “amicable”. Dager is a former Dota 2 player, who was with the organisation from February 2014, stepping into the CEO role when former boss Alex Garfield left suddenly in August 2016. It has been rumoured that Dager is looking to get back into competitive Dota 2.
