Just three months since PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds launched on Steam’s early access program, it’s sold four million copies, Brendan ‘PlayerUnknown’ Greene has revealed on Twitter.

The game released on March 23, and since then it’s only improved in popularity, sitting in the top five games live on Twitch and clinging onto Steam’s top sellers list since then. The game sold the first million copies on April 10, and has only spread faster since then, with the game gaining speed through word of mouth, relentless streaming and also competitive performances at events like Dreamhack and the online only charity invitational.
This week saw a stability boosting patch which fixes a few more bugs, and next week will see a monthly update which will add new features and content, including a Glock18-C pistol.
The game has recently announced it’ll be coming to Xbox One, meaning the title could well still be gathering speed.
