At the Boston Major this past weekend Valve announced the dates and location for the next Dota 2 Major tournament.
The Kiev Major will take place in April 2017, with the main event running between the 20th and 23rd.
PGL is once again in charge of putting it together, after very successful showings with the Manila Major and the Boston Major this year.
Qualifiers for the major were already announced with the open qualifiers taking place between March 6th and 9th, and the regional qualifiers taking place between March 10th and 13th. We are still waiting on confirmation of dates for the group stages.
Some people have noted that the shortness of the main event again hints that the event will be a single elimination bracket, something that many have been critical of.
Bringing the major to Kiev means that the massive CIS fan base has a major that it can travel to, with Western Europe, China, South East Asia and the USA being the locations for the first set of Majors.
