Luminosity’s coldzera on his AWP play at MLG Columbus: “It was lucky”

In an interview with MCV at the ECS finals, Luminosity player Marcelo “coldzera” David said his iconic AWP play at the last major was “lucky”.

The play saw the Brazilian take down four members of Team Liquid with just three bullets from his AWP sniper rifle, and turn a game that looked lost into one of the most impressive wins in CS history. However the man himself didn’t seem to think it was quite as amazing as everyone makes out.

“It was lucky,” mentioned coldzera. “For me it was lucky, but after this round I brought up my team’s confidence and said we are going to win, just relax, focus on the game and we will win. The second map the same thing happened, it was just like ‘relax guys, its 15-6 but just relax, focus again, keep calm and we will win again. We don’t have much pressure when we play, we just play.”

After hitting the impressive play, and eventually going on to win the MLG Columbus Major some people started to say the coldzera is the best CS:GO player in the world, so we asked him if he thought the same.

“I don’t think so, but I don’t care about that. For me I want to be the best team in the world, not the best player. I want to be the best team in the world because if you play solo you don’t win, you need that team around you.”

Luminosity is currently playing in the ECS finals, which are being held at Wembley Arena. You can watch all the action on the ECS Twitch stream.
