Capcom has banned Team YP from all Capcom Pro Tour events, with a new rule that forbids sponsors of “adult content”.
The new rules that were published at the end of last week, state that Capcom will not allow any players who are sponsored by “adult content sponsors, such as a publisher of pornographic websites, or any other sponsor Capcom deems inappropriate” to participate in their events. This was initially met with confusion as some thought Team YP players were being banned, however this has since been cleared up and players are allowed to compete, providing no mention of Team YP is made or shown on stream.
This move seems to be targeted solely at Team YP, with Capcom stating that sponsors such as alcoholic beverages, cigarettes or vaping (e-cigarette) products are still allowed in the competition.
Team YP currently has two Street Fighter players. Both Valentin “Valmaster” Petit and Anton “Filipinoman” Herrera signed with the organisation in the latter half of last year and have seen some small success. It remains to be seen if the two stay with Team YP after this new ruling, however Valentin “Valmaster” Petit competed at StunFest this weekend without the Team YP branding.
In response to the ruling the Team YP Twitter account posted the following Tweets.
We are disappointed to hear that @CapcomFighters has denied our team access to the Capcom Circuit despite the merits our players have shown.

We will continue to tread through the trenches and pursue equal opportunities for all that support the true spirit of Esports.
