SpecialEffect launches One Special Day initiative with support of 30-plus games firms

Video games charity SpecialEffect is holding its One Special Day initiative today.

This sees companies donating all or some of the money they make from game or DLC sales today to the charityfor one day only.

SpecialEffect has the support of 30 games firms, including The Chinese Room, First Touch Games, Green Man Gaming, New Star Games, Nomad Games, Curve Digital, Game Swing, Ripstone, Payload Studios, Magic Notion, Tammeka, We Love Dragons, Deconstructeam, Vagabond Dog, Terri Vellmann, Acid Nerve, Plethora Project, Free Lives, Roll 7 and Tundra Games.

The charity is hoping to raise 25,000.

As well as the companies donating their revenue, nDreams is organising a Great Assembly Bake-Off, Ripstone is holding a Twitch stream, Barog’s Simon Barrett waxed his legs for 3,000 and Insert Coin is donating 5 from sales of their birthday T-shirt for the month of July.
