Online readership of leading UK games trade site MCV: The Market for Computer & Video Games has hit a new record high – bursting past 300,000 unique readers.
The targeted site, which focuses on retail and publishing, offers daily news and analysis, plus chart information, jobs and real-time release schedule updates.
It is published alongside the influential print and digital edition of MCV, which has been delivered free to all games buyers, store managers and distributors since launch in 1998.
Independent audit data from Google Analytics, which is infamously strict with its traffic measurement, shows that MCV has hit record figures across uniques and page views.
Unique visitors in November totalled 317,183, whilst total page views were a whopping 682,729.
"Clearly we have seen a lot of benefit from the interest in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 during November, but at the same time these numbers are a testament to the power of MCV daily content and our commitment to SEO," commented MCV publisher Stuart Dinsey
"We expect our monthly average readership to fall back a little during the disrupted months of December and January, but to have driven comfortably past 300,000 in November shows the power of MCV. And, pleasingly, the comments boards are still dominated by genuine trade readers.
"Games coverage is everywhere, so be to be at the vanguard of online trade news, information and recruitment is very satisfying. MCV works well as an integrated direct-to-store print publication and wider online news and jobs source. We are also developing our events strategy, with the London Games Conference due to return in October 2010 even bigger than its debut at BAFTA a few weeks ago."
MCV is published alongside Develop which is the only online and print resource dedicated to games development professionals across Europe and CasualGaming.biz.
