UK developer trade organisation Tiga has revealed a new membership structure, geared to allowing even more businesses to benefit from the organisation’s efforts.
Membership is now divided into five tiers: platinum, gold, silver, bronze and copper. It’ll mean that start-up developers – even two-man teams – will be eligible to join the organisation and strengthen its representation across the business world.
To demonstrate the new system, the organisation has simultaneously announced its first copper member – London Flash game developer JohnnyTwoShoes.
“From today Tiga membership will be open to start-up and early stage games businesses," said Richard Wilson, CEO of Tiga. "This will enable micro games firms to also benefit from Tiga membership. I am delighted therefore to welcome JohnnyTwoShoes, London based flash games developer, to the Tiga family as our first copper member.”
JohnnyTwoShoes’ Maxwell Scott-Slade added: “JohnnyTwoShoes needs good advice and information to help us drive forward in the fast paced games industry. Tiga will enable us to move from business as usual to a new level of performance and growth. I would encourage other small and start-up firms to join Tiga too.”
In addition, some of the UK’s biggest studios have shown their support for the organisation by becoming platinum members – including Kuju, Rebellion, Blitz and Oxygen Insurance.
“Kuju has been an active supporter of Tiga since its inception and we believe that it is extremely important to make surethe voice of the independent development community is heard within the industry and within government. Tiga remains an essential channel for the business of game development,” said Kuju CEO Ian Baverstock.
