Nintendo kicked off its E3 Spotlight with a slew of announcements, confirming release dates for a number of titles announced earlier in the year, as well as confirmation of a couple of new surprises that are currently in development.
What was once Nintendo’s big holiday title, Super Mario Odyssey will now be launching a little earlier than expected on October 27th, while Monolith Soft’s upcoming RPG Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will now launch this winter, presumably a bit closer to Christmas. Either way, it looks to be a bumper holiday season for Switch owners.
Then, after what seems like aeons, Nintendo announced that not only was the long-awaited Metroid Prime 4 in development for Switch, but that the console will also be receiving a core Pokemon RPG adventure as well. While no date was set for Metroid, Pokemon will take at least another year, The Pokemon Company said, so expect it to arrive late 2018, if not early 2019.
In addition to those, we got a brief glimpse at new Kirby and Yoshi titles for Switch, both of which are due next year with their respective monikers as current working titles.
Psyonix’s Rocket League will also arrive on Switch this winter, with cross-network play and a slew of exclusive in-game items.
Fire Emblem Warriors, however, is still due this autumn, with no new information about what month we can expect it to arrive on consoles.
