The second season of the Rainbow Six Pro League is already underway, with a new $150,000 prize pool up for grabs across the four disciplines.
Teams will be competing in one of four competitions, split between the Xbox One and PC, and European and North American regions. At the end of the season teams from North America and Europe will meet at a LAN event on their platform of choice. The combined prize pool for the four competitions is now $150,000, which is double the prize pool of the first season.
Season two marks the first time that content from the Dust Line DLC will be available to use in competitive play. The new map Border is replacing Yacht in the map pool while both new operators, Valkyrie and Blackbeard, can be selected. However a new rule has been implemented that states teams can now only select one character with a shield, so one of Montagne, Recruit with a shield, or Blackbeard. There will also be an extra map veto, bringing the total to four.
Xbox One players started the second season yesterday, with the PC competition due to kick off on June 2nd. After the first season some teams were relegated from the league, and some promoted, meaning there will be quite a few new faces. You will be able to see who comes out on top over on the Rainbow Six Twitch channel, where Xbox competitions take place on Mondays and PC competitions take place on Thursdays.
