The Sunday Times’ ‘Best 100 Companies’ list has featured Jagex, the Cambridge-based developer of Runescape, for the second year running.
It’s the only games company on the list. Jagex employs 350 staff and is one of the UK’s biggest games developers.
The Best Companies list aims to acknowledge organisations that ‘provide excellent working environments and company cultures, as well as great leadership’. It’s been running for eight years and takes into account the views of more than 180,000 employees from 657 companies.
"I have never worked at a company with such an employee-friendly ethos and it is a great achievement to be the only games company to appear in the top 100 list," said Geoff Iddison, the new Jagex CEO who joined the firm late last year from PayPal.
"It has been a busy year for everyone at Jagex, developing RuneScape and launching our new games portal, FunOrb. Making the Times list is a great reward for everyone’s hard work over the past 12 months."
