EA storms Russia with 1C

EA has revealed that it is to invade the Russian market following a new wide-reaching distribution deal with 1C.

1C will now distribute EA’s titles in Russia and CIS countries, including territory exclusive value packs.

Alongside the publisher’s standard product, 1C will supply three new economy jewel packed PC games from EA – the first including Crysis Warhead, C&C Red Alert 3 and NHL ‘09 this autumn. The deal will also serve to make the most of the burgeoning Ukraine and Kazakhstan markets.

The choice of 1C as our strategic partner is not a random decision. Nowadays 1C is a key player on the distribution market of PC games in jewels,” commented EA VP and general manager of Central and Eastern Europe Peter Laughton. Due to its professionalism this company gained a high business reputation and we are interested in long-term and mutually profitable relations.”

Nikolay Baryshnikov, 1C’s international sales director enthused: The agreement signed is an unprecedented event for the Russian market. The world’s leading publisher will unite with the largest Russian software company.
