New role for EA’s Paul Lee

Kris Graft over at Next-Gen.biz has confirmed with EA that the former president of the publisher’s worldwide studio operations has moved into a new role following Monday’s company reshuffle and is now consulting CEO John Riccitiello.

"Paul will serve as senior advisor to the CEO, assigned to special projects,” an EA representative told the site. “He is one of the co-founders of Distinctive Software, the studio that became EA Canada and established EA’s basis in internal development at scale. More recently, Paul led our studios as the worldwide president. Paul has been instrumental to EA’s growth and we are happy that he will continue to add value to the company.”

Lee will now work closely with Riccitiello – he was previously appointed as president of the EA Worldwide Studio network, which employs thousands of developers, in 2005 and was recently responsible for driving a studio strategy that encouraged each team to come up with brand new IPs and help the publisher/developer lighten its reliance on franchises and licences.
