The UK games industry is ramping up for two graduate recruitment fairs taking place at the end of the month.

GamesGrads support mounts

The GamesGrads shows are being put together by Tandem Events, organisers of the Develop Conference and Expo, with two careers fairs taking place at the end of April – one in the North of England, the other in the south.

GamesGrads’ first outing is in Manchester on Tuesday April 24th. The southern event takes place two days later, on Thursday April 26h in London. Both events run all day and are free to attend.

Students interested in attending should head to www.gamesgrads.co.uk to put their name down – every registrant will be entered into a draw to win an iPod Video and a super pass for the Develop conference.

Most importantly, a number of big-name studios have already signed up to attend and meet candidates looking to get into the games industry. Disney Interactive Studios, Havok, Game Republic, Juice, Lionhead, Microsoft Game Studios, Rare and Rebellion are all taking part, with more studios set to confirm their details.

"The response to Games Grads has been great," explained Ali Wynn at organiser Tandem Events.

"We’ve got some high profile studios actively looking to recruit games graduates taking part and so far hundreds of graduates registered to come along and meet up with them, showcase their work and hopefully secure a career in the games industry."
