Warner Bros' big money deal with Eidos-owner SCi will help the UK publisher expand its development base, with expansion into China and Canada plus new acquisitions, a priority.

SCi to open studios in China and Canada

"We will open studios in China and Canada, and will accelerate new media strategy, specifically in mobile, casual games, digital downloads and episodic content," CEO Jane Cavanagh told Develop’s sister magazine MCV.

"We will increase our development capacity, both in terms of internal studios and third parties."

Last week the publisher announced that Warner Bros had paid £45m for a 10 per cent stake in the firm as well as giving the team rights to 11 new licences including the likes of Batman, Looney Tunes, Bugs Bunny and the classic Hanna-Barbera catalogue.
