1 Game Agent aims to replicate the model used in movies and music in the way it manages ‘the talent’, presumably following in the footsteps of other dedicated agencies like ISM and the games team at Hollywood’s Creative Artists Agency.
“This is an opportunity to forge a new path,” said David Smith, MD of the company – and also MD of DS Interactive, which owns Interactive Selection. “The model works well in the film, TV and music industries so we think it will work well for game developers. We seek a roster of the games industry’s finest creative talent so that we can the help the talent make even more great games in the future.”
The agency’s first signing of Jon Hare, who also created Cannon Fodder, is hoped to be the first of many as 1 Game Agent scouts for more talent.
Explained Hare: “As the games industry inevitably moves towards a creative business model much closer to that of Hollywood, 1 Game Agent is perfectly poised to take full advantage by placing experienced creators such as myself in front of game publishers and developers looking for talent of the highest calibre.”
