With the Wii and PS3 launches looming in the US, Games Developer Conference organiser CMP has thrown the wraps off more GDC 07 sessions, underlining its commitment to next-gen issues.

New GDC sessions scrutinise next-gen impact

A number of lectures and talks at the event, which runs from March 5th to 9th in San Francisco, will examine the impact that next-gen consoles have had on games production.

New games Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and Lair will be used by developers Vicarious Visions and Factor 5 as case studies for control scheme design and asset management respectively.

Meanwhile Stormfront boss Don Daglow will discuss the key next-gen console issues facing the games industry over the next two years, while Pseudo Interactive’s David Wu looks at physics on new console formats.

And these are just CMP’s key picks – the eventual GDC line-up will include over 300 sessions, discussions, lectures and workshops.

More information can be found at the conference’s official site.
