CCP, the Icelandic developer responsible for MMO Eve Online, is to merge with pen-and-paper RPG company White Wolf.

CCP to merge with RPG company

The move allows the studio to use White Wolf’s knowledge when creating Eve Online merchandise, while the RPG company hopes CCP can take its role-playing titles online. Work is already afoot in turning White Wolf’s World of Darkness into an MMO.

The two will still operate under their respective name, with White Wolf a wholly-owned subsidiary of CCP. Hilmar Petursson, CEO of CCP, will become CEO of the combined company.

Said Petursson: " Virtual worlds are a new form of entertainment, separate from traditional computer games. By combining forces, we will create a company unsurpassed in quality, innovation, and scope which will keep us at the forefront of this emerging trend."
