The lack of releases last week led to the usual big titles fighting for the top spots of the charts this week. FIFA 18 ended up taking No.1 for the first time since its three consecutive weeks stay at the top, right after launch at the very end of September. Sales for EA’s title were down 57 per cent week-on-week in what was a very quiet week at retail. Revenue was down 58 per cent week-on-week, with unit sales also down decreasing 56 per cent. The market is up compared to the same period last year though, only 1.9 per cent in units but up 11.7 per cent in value.
Call of Duty: WWII had to settle for No.2 with sales decreasing 72 per cent week-on-week. Activision’s FPS spent nine consecutive weeks at No.1, equalling 2009’s Modern Warfare 2, which was until now holding the record of the most consecutive weeks at the top for a Call of Duty title.
Meanwhile, Grand Theft Auto V gained two spots to No.3 despite a 55 per cent drop in sales, with GfK noting that, over four years since its release, Rockstar’s hit has never been out of the Top 40. The data firm added that 85 per cent of GTA V’s positions in the charts were within the Top 10.
Assassin’s Creed Origins managed to keep its position at No.4 for the fourth consecutive week despite a 60 per cent decrease in sales. Since launch on October 27th, Ubisoft’s title has always managed to remain in the top six.
