Team EnVyUs has announced that they have signed three Rocket League stars to create a competitive roster for the title.
The three players signed: David ‘Deevo’ Morrow, Nicolai ‘Masetro’ Bang and Remco ‘Remkoe’ Den Boer are Rocket League Championship Series World Champions for Season 3 and used to play for organisation Northern Gaming. They’ll now be playing under EnVyUs, an endorsement that points to positive things for Rocket League as an esport.
Not that anyone is in any doubt. Since sneaking under the radar to launch for free on PlayStation Plus, Rocket League has become the most popular game of football where every player is made of metal, has an engine and actually is a car that’s ever existed. The esports community for the game is strengthening considerably, buoyed this week by the announcement that NBC and FACEIT would be making an open 2v2 $100,000 tournament with televised grand finals that’ll occur in August this year.
“We’re very thankful for the opportunity to expand our organization into Rocket League with the best roster on the planet,” Mike Rufail, team owner and CEO of EnVyUs has said in a canned statement. “With all of the great things Rocket League brings to esports, we hope our fans are excited to support these guys in their continued success. We also think we can help accelerate the growth of Rocket League as a competitive esports title in the future. That’s one of our ultimate goals with this transaction alongside giving top tier support to these players.”
